OZONE Afterburner: warp speed, maximum upwind
The Afterburner was designed with one goal in mind: to be the fastest parawing on the market with the best upwind performance. Its high-aspect, single-skin canopy delivers serious drive, fast acceleration and an upwind angle that keeps getting better the harder you push. Forget the downwind shuttle: start where you plan to finish, hammer upwind, then enjoy the long glide home on the swell.
- Class-leading upwind ability: the more you load it, the higher it points.
- Top-end speed with composed, confidence-inspiring control.
- Huge wind range: the same low-end as the Pocket Rocket V2, with far more top-end.
- Smooth overhead drive that makes tacking easy.
- Easy to stash when it's time to surf the bumps.
- Designed for hooked-in harness riding.
Who is it for?
Intermediate to advanced riders who want to cover distance: long downwinders, coastal missions and upwind grinds to link swells on the way back. It's proven race-winning kit (Axel Mazella took victory at the Défi Wing 2026 on it), yet it remains a genuinely fun freeride wing for anyone hooked on speed.
Technology
A high cell count with fully supported ribs spreads the load evenly and keeps the canopy exceptionally clean. Low-drag bridles, with thin Kevlar lines on the upper cascade and thicker, stiffer lines through the mid-level, cut drag while still packing away neatly. A centre front riser, lightweight V-shrink tabs and flexible leading-edge battens hold the profile steady.
It comes with an all-new monobloc carbon control bar: 35 cm long and around 90 g, with a textured EVA grip, an index-finger front overhang for comfort and depower control, an A-line protection nub and a thumb rest on the bar end. A fixed loop harness line comes fitted.
From the designer
OZONE lead designer Dom Zimmermann describes the Afterburner as a blend of foil kite, wing and parawing, built around the team's guiding motto: "Accessible performance is true performance."
