Pumpfoil: Glide on Water Without Waves or Wind

Pumpfoil is a fascinating discipline that allows you to glide and fly above the water continuously using only the energy from your body.

Unlike surf foiling (with waves) or wingfoiling, windfoiling, and kitefoiling (with wind), pumpfoiling requires no external force. The practitioner uses a very short board mounted on a foil. By performing a rhythmic pumping motion (a bending/extending of the legs), they generate the lift and speed necessary to keep the underwater wing in the air.

It's an excellent way to:

Foil anywhere: lakes, calm bodies of water, or even along a dock (using dockstart, dropstart, or headstart techniques).
Improve your balance and pumping technique for all other foil disciplines.
Enjoy an intense and very fun physical workout.
Pumpfoil is the ultimate expression of "human-powered" gliding!

Pump foil is a rapidly growing discipline that offers incredibly addictive sensations and possibilities. Not long ago, pump foiling was reserved for an elite few. Today, it’s becoming more accessible, and thanks to a new generation of pumping wings such as the DK1240, pumping is now within everyone’s reach.

By combining the new "deastart" takeoff technique with a foil wing that can lift off with virtually no speed, this has become possible.

For beginners in pump foil, it is essential to choose your foil carefully to make learning easier and optimize your progression. If your budget is limited, there are pumpfoil boards available at very affordable prices, which makes your first equipment easier to acquire. For example, a French craftsman offers boards starting at 164 euros under the Tools brand. This model pairs perfectly with the Modular Alu with the DK1240 wing, a foil that stands out for its excellent glide thanks to a polished mast and an aluminum profile of only 15 mm in thickness. This aluminum foil is among the lightest pumpfoils on the market and can also be used in other disciplines, such as wingfoil or kitefoil, by choosing the appropriate front wing.
