Pump Foil in 2026 and AlpineFoil Innovation: The DK 1360 Wing

The year 2025 was marked by significant growth and rapid democratization of pump foil, attracting a large number of new practitioners. In response to this boom, AlpineFoil conducted extensive research and development to deepen its understanding of this discipline.

Research and Development at AlpineFoil:

In-depth numerical simulations were carried out.
Precise measurements were taken in the field using a DataLogger unit integrating accelerometers and electronic modules.
This work has led to a better understanding of the detailed functioning of the pump foil and the identification of new, more efficient, gliding, and maneuverable hydrodynamic profiles.

Introducing the New DK 1360 Wing:

The result of more than a year of research and testing, the DK 1360 is a new generation wing designed for:

Accessibility, Learning, and Ease of Progression:

It is aimed at beginners and those progressing.
It inherits and improves the accessibility, glide, and excellent low-end range of the DK 1240.
Makes learning easier and practice more enjoyable and less energy-consuming.
Takes off at very low speed, making it compatible with all types of starts (drop start, dock start, beach start).
Its reactivity allows for repositioning in case of bad positioning at the start and straightening out tricky situations.

Performance and Gliding Pleasure:


Its wingspan of 136 cm and its aspect ratio of 9.6 offer an ideal compromise between performance, glide, and accessibility.
The new profile, derived from long-distance prototypes, ensures impressive glide, progressiveness, and stability.
Offers a fantastic turn thanks to its new arch, inspired by the Downwind and Wave programs (RSX 1400 G2).

Versatility and Comfort:

Its ultra-tolerant profile never stalls, even in the presence of ripples, always allowing to regain lift.
Ensures a perfect balance between the front leg and the rear leg, significantly reducing fatigue and allowing for a more upright and efficient body position.
Considerably increases flight time in pump foil.
Also suitable for experienced practitioners for downwind and small swell surfing, offering great ease and excellent ability to slow down.

Conclusion:

The DK 1360 represents a major advance in pump foil.
A new generation of pumpfoil wing is born. Unlike other concepts, the DK1360 has a large surface area of 1950 cm2 combined with a very gliding profile.
